Don't Be Perfect
According to multiple studies, 92 percent of New Year’s resolutions FAIL. WHY? The number one reason is PERFECTIONISM. We start off strong, but as soon as we slip, we quit. “I messed up.”
Here are some simple tips for you to apply as you move forward in 2023:
- Give yourself permission to miss. Life has a way of messing up our plans. If you miss a day, pick up the next day where you left off.
- Take baby steps. Cut your goal in half. Start with twice a week rather than every day. Smaller steps help create consistent progress.
- Have fun! Celebrate small victories. If your original goal is 50 lbs weight loss, and you cut that to 25, celebrate your first 5 lbs. NOT WITH FOOD!
- Remember, every day you follow through is a day closer to your goal AND further than you were before you started.
